Terms for using VerseStudy.

These terms describe the current VerseStudy service and the boundaries between the Scripture/source material it uses and VerseStudy’s own editorial presentation. Effective date: 8 September 2026.

Using the site

VerseStudy is a Bible reading and study resource. You may use the public site for ordinary personal reading, study, reference, linking, and quotation subject to the licence that applies to the specific material you are using. Do not use the service in a way that interferes with its operation, attempts unauthorized access, or misrepresents VerseStudy material or review status.

Scripture and third-party source licences

Scripture text and research datasets do not all share one licence. The World English Bible Classic text used as VerseStudy’s primary English Scripture source is public domain. Other relationship or language datasets may be used under attribution licences. Each named source and its current usage are listed on the Sources page.

A public-domain or Creative Commons licence applying to a source does not automatically apply that same licence to VerseStudy’s separate editorial explanations, interface, layout, or other original presentation. When reusing source material, follow the licence attached to that source rather than assuming the whole page has one licence.

Editorial material and review state

VerseStudy separates literal Scripture from context notes, interpretation, cross-reference explanations, and other editorial material. Editorial material can be revised as sourcing or review improves. Do not present disputed, draft, or partially reviewed material as if it carried a stronger review status than the site actually records. The review model is described on the Methodology page.

No substitute for professional advice

VerseStudy provides study and reference information. It is not legal, medical, financial, mental-health, or other professional advice, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional where such advice is appropriate.

External links

Some pages link to source repositories, publishers, scholarly records, or other external sites. Those services operate under their own terms, privacy practices, availability, and content controls. A source link documents provenance or provides further reference; it does not mean VerseStudy controls or endorses everything on that external site.

Availability and changes

The site may change as passages complete review, sources are corrected, features are added or removed, or technical maintenance is performed. VerseStudy may correct factual, transcription, citation, or technical errors when found. Where a change affects a review claim or source decision, the relevant record is updated rather than preserving a known error.

Privacy and advertising

Current data-handling behaviour is described on the Privacy page. If analytics, consent tooling, or advertising is enabled, the privacy disclosure is updated as part of that implementation so the published terms match the service that is actually running.
