Terms for using VerseStudy.

These terms describe the VerseStudy reading and study service, including the boundaries between Scripture, third-party source material, and VerseStudy’s own explanations. Effective date: 18 September 2026.

Using the site

VerseStudy is a Bible reading and study resource. You may use the public site for ordinary personal reading, study, reference, and linking. When reusing Scripture, data, or other source material, follow the licence that applies to that specific material. Do not use the service in a way that interferes with its operation or attempts unauthorized access.

Scripture and third-party source licences

Scripture text and research datasets do not all share one licence. The World English Bible Classic text used as VerseStudy’s primary English Scripture source is public domain. Other language or relationship datasets may be used under attribution licences. Current sources and their roles are listed on the Sources page.

A public-domain or Creative Commons licence applying to a source does not automatically apply the same licence to VerseStudy’s separate explanatory text, interface, layout, or other original presentation. Reuse the underlying source according to that source’s own terms.

VerseStudy study notes

Context notes, cross-reference explanations, original-language comments, and other VerseStudy explanations are study aids rather than Scripture. They may be revised when better evidence, clearer wording, or a correction becomes available. Disputed readings are described as disputed where appropriate.

No substitute for professional advice

VerseStudy provides study and reference information. It is not legal, medical, financial, mental-health, or other professional advice, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional where such advice is appropriate.

External links

Some pages link to source repositories, publishers, scholarly records, or other external sites. Those services operate under their own terms, privacy practices, availability, and content controls. A source link documents provenance or provides further reference; it does not mean VerseStudy controls or endorses everything on that external site.

Availability and corrections

The site may change as study material is improved, sources are corrected, features are added or removed, or maintenance is performed. VerseStudy may correct factual, transcription, citation, interpretation, or technical errors when found.

Privacy and advertising

Current data handling is described on the Privacy page. If analytics, consent technology, or advertising is enabled, the privacy disclosure will be updated so the published information matches the service in use.
